CAMBRIDGE, MASS—Barrett Communications Designs Boston Lyric Opera's New 2008-2009 Season Materials

Boston Lyric Opera (BLO) is New England's favorite opera company. Founded in 1976, BLO is recognized for its artistically excellent productions of a diverse repertoire that entertain and inspire audiences and feature emerging operatic talent. BLO produces three mainstage productions at the Shubert Theatre in Boston and a production of a fully staged, one-hour English version of a popular opera for school children and families throughout New England.

Boston Lyric Opera was in need of a new suite of stationery materials for their 2008-2009 Opera Season, Spellbound, that were multi purpose and flexible in order to satisfy varied correspondence needs to their large subscription base. All promotional materials featured a series of compelling illustrations by local Rhode Island artist Rob Rey.

Barrett Communications worked closely with BLO's internal development team to create a series of cards that could be used throughout the season for a variety of events while maintaining a high-end, custom feel for each use. The result was a richly colored series of three folding cards and imprintable posters where each piece utilized a unique yet coordinating design to entice and excite BLO audiences.

Founded in 1987, Barrett Communications is a big-picture integrated media design firm that believes successful communications involve an audience in a clear and motivating dialogue across a rich mix of print and interactive media.
