President
Briefly describe your professional experiences:
I started my career as a traditional graphic designer on the east and west coasts for small and large agencies before co-founding Barrett in 1987. In the early 90's, our industry exploded with new design tools, the Internet, and the expansion of graphic design into branding communications. I quickly evolved from designer to executive team leader at Barrett - consulting with prospects, collaborating with clients, and engaging with our creative team to deliver innovative solutions which capture our clients' essential brand identity message.
Education:
BFA in Visual Design, Southeastern Massachusetts University
Name six clients you've worked with that best represent your client base:
Cisco Systems, Mathsoft, Sentillion, Variagenics, Orthogon Systems, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Why did you choose the career direction that brought you to Barrett Communications?
I grew up in an entrepreneurial family of commercial artists, illustrators, and musicians. Design was a natural direction for me to follow. My husband is also an entrepreneur and he got me hooked on the internet, technology, and business while he was attending MIT. Then it all came together in 1987 as a business plan while we traveled across country in my Honda CRX!
What three principles or rules apply to every day of your life at Barrett Communications?
1. Strive. I strive for excellence as I listen carefully and advise intelligently. 2. Thrive. I thrive creatively through our energetic, positive, and collaborative culture. 3. Drive. I value our approach to actively seek innovative solutions, learn new skills, and forge rewarding partnerships with our clients.
What do you do when you're not working?
Enjoy my friends and family. |
